Belinda Stanton. Sgraffito Artist.

All work from this artist can be found here : http://belindastanton.com/wp/?p=1519

Belinda has got to be one of my all time favourite Sgraffito artists her work is so quirky and contemporary.I especially love these little 'ladies' as she calls them the black detail on them is amazing and the sgraffito at the bottom adds a nice texture to the finished piece.
Below are a few words she said on the piece.

These bowls are amazingly made. I love the style to her work its rather graphic and very colourful, she seems to use the same illustrated characters in her work which I love.

Peter Blake.

Sir Peter Thomas Blake, KBE, RDI, RA (born 25 June 1932) is an English pop artist, best known for co-creating the sleeve design for the Beatles' album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. He lives in Chiswick, London.

Sir Peter Blake is one the country’s most enduringly popular and important living artists and he has collected since childhood.
is astonishing collections include Victorian collage and folk art, pop ephemera, works by his artist friends, showbiz autographs and marching troupes of toy elephants. They include such such strange and wonderful things as General Tom Thumb’s boots, Max Miller’s shoes and Ian Dury’s Rhythm Stick and the exhibition at the Holburne will explore the creative relationship that Blake has with this cabinet of curiosities.

Pete Blake’s collection of white objects is my favorite. I have chosen to collect white objects myself although his objects have much more meaning to them than mine. I should of taken more inspiration from peter Blake in terms of the actual objects I choose because his collection is very sentimental as he has been collection from childhood I think that is what makes it so interesting.

Oxford Trip.

Here are some pictures from a recent college visit to Oxford, while in Oxford we visited the Ashmolean museum and also the museum of modern art. The pictures below were all from the Ashmolean museum

Homage Sketchbooks.

A current project that I am working on at the moment is called Homage. We have to pay homage to letters and the use of text, here are some images of the 3 sketchbooks I have started to create.

The sketchbooks started out really plain, I only used brown paper and text on the little ones and use the sewing machine to stitch it all together.

As you can see i have started to add more text and decoration, old stamps were used and also old bits of paper found lying around from previous projects.

Kate Moss is the new face of Alexander McQueen.

KATE MOSS has been named the new face of Alexander McQueen, and, surprisingly, it is the first time that the supermodel has fronted a campaign for the brand. She also stars in a futuristic film, which was inspired by Sixties British cult thriller, Peeping Tom.
The haunting short is seen through the eyes of an unknown voyeur who follows Moss through a darkened street, while holding a replica doll version of the model, before she enters a desolate building and begins to take off all her clothes. As expected from McQueen, it is every bit as otherworldly and sinister.
The images and film were shot in East London by long-time McQueen collaborator Steven Klein
Below are some photos of the very talked about campaign
