Glass Workshop.

Here are some pictures from a recent glass workshop, Glass work is something I am entirely new to and it was all a bit of an experiment.
Here is an example of cat decals placed on top of ceramics and then fired and glazed, this is definitely a process i would love to use in the future.

Decals had to be placed into water so that the backing would ease off slowly when being placed onto glass, you need to be relatively patient at this stage.
you slide the decal off the backing straight onto your ready cut piece of glass and using some tissue push any air bubbles out and make sure it is placed neatly, air bubbles could cause the decal to burn off in the kilm which is not something you want. (poor rabbits)

A few drops of luster had been placed in the bucket of water, as you can see its resisted it. I placed my piece of glass work above the water (not it) to coat it with luster. At this stage I had no idea if this was even going to work when it was fired.

I placed a flower decal on blue glass and experimented with a process called "trapping" which is basically pieces of foil placed between two pieces of glass which are pretty much the same size.
