I want to produce a series of wood cut prints using
the bark of a cut down tree as well as a variety of other print processes.I will use the bark of the tree in many ways to create print impressions, I will ink it up before it has been carved and after. As a
potential fashion designer I am interested in pattern as a surface on the body
and as a domestic interior. This project will allow me to expand my making and designing
skills in readiness for University.
I will spend
some time with my fine art tutor discussing relevant designers and
illustrators. As my starting point I will collect a strong
body of research, finding relevant artist to cater for what I am trying to
achieve. I will use the internet and library to research and discover, I will
look at nature and patterns as well as textile designers who specialise a lot
within natural pattern. I will use the internet and things like Pinterest to
also discover crafts people and designers because it is a helpful tool. I will
use my trip to Bristol to record certain patterns that may be found in
architecture or museum findings. I will also visit places like margam park,
bryngarw park and nature reserves I will look at animals like birds and different
types of flowers.
