Coil Building.

Coil building is a new technique I have been introduced to. Before creating my own piece, I carried out a diverse range of research into different craft's people and designers. Some of the outcomes I found were extremely inspiring. I started creating this piece only planning on it to be on a small scale but ended up creating something big. Being new to this technique I expected it to be somehow difficult but it was not , I enjoyed creating this pot and the design process.
After Christmas, we will be starting to specialize in the areas we want to concentrate on, being a fashion orientated person, I have to now steer my projects towards fashion and show that in my outcomes and design process. I will do this by looking in fashion magazines constantly for inspiration and looking at other blogs and designers.

My first fashion Illustration.

This is my first attempt at fashion illustration. I took inspiration from one of my favourite artists Niky Roehreke. I wanted to create something that was mainly done in graphics and consisted of  cutting and pasting images and creating a series of different layers and Photoshop effects. Niky Roehreke mainly bases his work around models by cutting and pasting them into backdrops and adding item in such as Ice cream cone splashes of paint etc. I created this in Photoshop looking at the model Cara Delvingne not only is she one of my favourite models but she is also one of the most popular models in the industry right now.

Life Drawing.

Life drawing sessions are now over. It was a 8-week program and we had some interesting models. Life drawing is something I am very new to and I enjoyed the whole experience, I came to appreciate the human form much more after my sessions and thoroughly enjoyed learning new drawing techniques and I will defiantly take them forward when creating other work.
Although some parts have been a struggle and hard work, especially at the beginning when I was not used to drawing the figure and people I do believe I have some strong work at the end of it and certainly portfolio worthy.
I enjoyed using the process "continuous" line and took inspiration from one of my favourite artists Gregory Muezen, someone I was not familiar with until the "people watching" project.
Here is an example of some of the work I have created over the weeks.

Fashion Illustration.

Fashion Promotion and Fashion Retailing are both areas that I want to go into at a higher education level. I would love to study one of these at university.
I love fashion Illustration and love looking on blogs and in magazines such as Vouge, Elle, and I.D for inspiration.
Below are some fashion illustration artists I have looked at before I created my own outcomes. I will be posting far more on fashion Illustration through this year and next.

I am currently working on a project within fine art called people and pattern, Fashion Illustration artists such as Issa Grim are people I can look at and take ideas from as she incorporates a lot of pattern within her work.

Negarin Ricardo.

Negarin's work is very interesting it is one of my favorites, there is a strong element of fine art in his work and fine drawing. His drawing skills are almost photo like they are so detailed you can see the clear use of pencil work and colour.

I love the incorporation of pattern colour and pencil drawing. His drawings compliment the patterns he chooses to use.

Prince Lauder.

Prince Lauder is my favourite, I have enjoyed looking at his work. He uses a copy and paste approach when creating his work, they almost look like a series of layered magaziene cuttings made through photoshop. His work is current. I want to create a series of graphic outcomes in fashion illustration using photoshop to cut, paste and layer.
I will post some outcomes soon.
