Anna Hanley

Anna Hanley is a Batik artist. While studying at home she  began painting on cotton using batik then after a time switched her base materials to ricepaper. She is captivated with the fluid hot wax and its reaction to the paper.  She alternates layers of hot wax and watercolor paint until her outcomes are complete.  She then  removes all the wax at the end and the results are often amazing.

Her Batik paintings are created on ricepaper using watercolor paint and a mixture of paraffin and beeswax.
